Solar neutrino physics is an interesting field of research for both fundamental physics and solar physics. Low energy solar neutrinos, which provide 99% of the flux, are a unique probe to the Sun's interior and may help solving fundamental solar physics problem.

Leptogenesis without violation of B-L

Leptogenesis is a very attractive mechanism to explain the baryon asymmetry of the universe because it connects this mystery with the smallness of neutrino masses. After an introduction to leptogenesis we will motivate and describe a simple model for low energy leptogenesis that conserves B-L.

From the most general Wtb vertex arising from dimension-six gauge invariant effective operators, I discuss the density matrix for the decay of a polarised top quark into a polarised W boson and a b quark.

Searching for New Physics with Top Quark Decays

We analyze possible new physics signals in the decays of the top quark within an effective field theory approach. In particular, we compute the branching ratios for the rare top quark decays t to c gamma and t to c Z mediated by effective flavor changing neutral couplings at the next-to-leading order in QCD including the effects due to operator mixing.

Geneva, 26 November 2010. After less than three weeks of heavy-ion running, the three experiments studying lead ion collisions at the LHC have already brought new insight into matter as it would have existed in the very first instants of the Universe’s life.


The structure of 4D Conformal Field Theories

I will review the status of the program, initiated a few years ago by the speaker and R. Rattazzi, of putting model-independent bounds on the structure of 4D CFTs by using OPE associativity and unitarity. I will also discuss applications to BSM phenomenology.
