Neutrinoless double beta decay: Neutrino mass versus exotic contributions

Neutrinoless double beta decay is a very sensitive probe for physics beyond the standard model. Usually it is discussed only as a probe for the (Majorana) neutrino mass scale but, in principle, any model with lepton number violation can contribute to its amplitude.

Discrete Symmetries and the Flavour Problem

The flavour puzzle is an open problem in the Standard Model and the use of new symmetries helps in explaining the fermion mass hierarchies and mixings as well as the (non-)observation of FCNC processes. I will review the main idea of the flavour model building with a particular attention to the discrete non-Abelian symmetries. Furthermore I will give few examples of possible strategies to test flavour models.

Sommerfeld Effect in Dark Matter

Observations of positrons in Pamela experiment demand that DM cross section is 10^3 - 10^4 times larger than what is expected from relic density calculation. I show that the Sommerfeld effect changes the relic density calculation and also the annihilation cross section in the present universe so that one can explain PAmela observations
