WISPy signals from the sky

Friday April 15th, 14:30hs -  Seminar room

Speaker: Javier Redondo (MPI, Munich)

Despite their feeble interactions with standard matter, the hypothetical WISPs (weakly interacting sub eV particles) can be significantly produced in stars and in the early universe, having a humongous impact on stellar evolution and cosmology.

In this talk I will review the main arguments, which often translate into very strict constraints upon the WISP couplings, and comment on recently uncovered anomalies in our understanding of stars and the big bang that can hint the existence of WISPs.
