In many extensions of the Standard Model of particle physics (SM) the LHC data impose a stringent bound on the strength of the electroweak phase transition and, in turn, on the stochastic gravitational wave background that this transition produces. In this talk we highlight some exceptions, we explain how they overcome the LHC constraints, and we carefully analyse their detection prospective at eLISA.
