Abstract : An interesting possibility to ease the tension between various determinations of $|V_{ub}|$ is to allow a small right-handed contribution to the standard model weak current.  The present bounds on such a contribution are fairly weak.

Abstract : We show that flavor symmetries can lead to dark matter stability without the need to impose additional discrete or continuous symmetries specifically for this purpose. We explore two scenarios.

DECEMBER 2014 - 2014 Nishina Memorial Prize to T2K

Takashi Kobayashi (KEK) and Tsuyoshi Nakaya (Kyoto University) from the T2K Collaboration have been awarded the 2014 Nishina Memorial Prize for their contributions to the "Observation of electron neutrino appearance in a muon neutrino beam".

The Governing Board of the Institut de Física d'Altes Energies (IFAE) appointed professor Ramon Miquel as the next director. This opening was advertised internationally, and the appointment was made from the short list recommended by IFAE's external Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Miquel follows in this position Dr. Matteo Cavalli- Sforza, director of IFAE since 2008.
