SEMINAR: Higgs naturalness and scale invariance

Friday November 15 2013, 2:30pm - Seminar room

Speaker: Witold Skiba (Yale U & CERN)

Abstract:
I will discuss the issue of fine tuning of the Higgs mass in theories with scale invariance at high energy scales.

If the Standard Model merges into a scale-invariant theory there must be a scale associated with the transition from the Standard Model dynamics into conformal dynamics. I will argue that the Higgs mass is sensitive to this transition scale even if there are no massive particles at the transition scale.
