The MAGIC Data Center fits (in the Astronomical Community)

Speaker: Ignasi Reichardt

Thursday 18th of Feb, 14:00 to 15:00, IFAE Seminar Room

The Data Center of the MAGIC Collaboration is located at PIC and makes use of ROOT-related software. MAGIC data calibration and reduction have nothing to do with usual

astronomical tools for other wavelengths different from gamma rays. However, "science ready" products of our analyses are useful for the whole astronomical community and o fcourse, we also need very much input from lower energies. One platform that allows the interconnection is the Virtual Observatory (VO). In this talk I will report about the efforts to make MAGIC data readable by VO programs, and also how these tools can be useful for our studies.
