Possible hints of New Physics found in a new joint analysis of data from LHCb and other experiments

• Global analysis of observables related to rare B decays measured in different experiments such as LHCb, Belle and preliminary results from ATLAS and CMS shows a discrepancy with the Standard Model at five standard deviations.

• Some analyzed observables are designed to test an important property of the Standard model called lepton-flavor universality. The discrepancy found in the analysis challenges this universality.

• The discrepancy between the results and the Standard Model predictions points to possible New Physics. Two possible model candidates include the existence of a new fundamental particle such as a Z' or a leptoquark.
