Open Position 4 Predoctoral positions in Experimental Particle Physics, and Astroparticle Physics

The “Institut de Física d’Altes Energies” (IFAE) in Barcelona announces the opening of four predoctoral positions for outstanding young graduates interested in working towards a PhD thesis at IFAE. These positions are funded by the Ministry of Competitiveness and Economy (MINECO). The contracts will have a duration of four years (the typical time to prepare a PhD thesis at IFAE), and will enjoy competitive conditions, with a gross salary of 16.422€ per year. The fellowship includes a budget of 6.250€ to cover tuition fees and research stays.

If the thesis is defended before the start of the 3rd year of the fellowship, the MINECO will cover one postdoctoral year with a gross salary of 19.000€.

The four position offered are:

  • 1 position to work in ATLAS (project FPA2015-69260-C3-1-R), Dr Martine Bosman and Dr. Aurelio Juste ( , )
  • 1 position to work in Astroparticle Physics in MAGIC and participate on the telescope operation (project FPA2015-69818-P), Dr Javi Rico and Dr Oscar Blanch ( , )
  • 1 position to work in Particle physics and new technologies for Neutrino experiments (Project SEV-2012-0234), Dr. Federico Sánchez ( )
  • 1 position to work in ATLAS Run 2 physics, detector operation and instrumentation for detector upgrade (project SEV-2012-0234), Dr Martine Bosman ( ), Dr. Aurelio Juste ( ), Dr. Sebastian Grinstein ( )
