Open Position Open position for the integration and validation of the LST Cameras

The “Institut de Física d’Altes Energies” (IFAE) in Barcelona has an immediate opening for a person to participate on the integration and validation of three cameras for the Large Size Telescope (LST) of CTA.

The LSTs are ground-based Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescope with a 23m diameter reflective surface, studying extreme phenomena in the Universe using high energy gamma rays above 20 GeV. The first telescope is already taking nightly data and is being used for first scientific studies and publications. IFAE is member of the UTE LC24 that won a bidding for the integration of three cameras for the LSTs. Further information about LST can be found in this link: http://www.lst1.iac.es/ . The integration and validation of the camera will happen at IFAE from October 2021 until the end of 2022.

The applicant should fulfil the following requirements:

• PhD on physics on engineering degree.
• Experience on integrating and commissioning complex detectors.
• Good English level.
