Open Position Fellowship position: Simulation of the spread of Covid-19

The Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) of Barcelona invites applications for a fellowship of up to 12 months (gross salary 21k€/year) within the recently funded project “A powerful stochastic tool to assess the impact of COVID-19 in Catalonia“. The fellow will join a multidisciplinary team of physicists, demographers, mathematicians and engineers from various institutions whose goal is to provide a simulation tool for epidemic outbreaks using the finest sets of demographic and mobility data available for Catalonia.

Applicants are required to hold at least an MSc in Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in Python coding or in mathematical modelling of infectious diseases. Candidates with a PhD aiming at covering a period between other fellowships are also welcome.

The fellowship is required to start as soon as possible.
