Open Position Call for Expression of Interest for PhD in Theoretical Physics

Opening Date:
Closing Date: Until Filled

The “Institut de Física d’Altes Energies” (IFAE) in Barcelona welcomes expressions of interest for PhD positions on Theoretical Physics, along the strategic lines of the members of the Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) and Cosmology groups. The latter include physics beyond the Standard Model of elementary particles, formal aspects of quantum field theories, gravitation, gravitational waves, quantum detectors for dark matter searches, cosmology and astroparticle physics. The Theory Group is a vibrant international group, whose senior members working on BSM and Cosmology include D. Blas, E. Masso, C. Murgui, A Pomarol, O. Pujolas, M. Quiros, F. Rompineve and A. Wulzer (check https://www.ifae.es/ for more information about the group).

The previous areas are complemented with a very active collaboration with the experimental colleagues at IFAE working on colliders, cosmology, gravitational waves, astroparticles and quantum technologies (check also https://www.ifae.es/ for more information about these groups).

Candidates should have a Master Degree in Physics, provide a abridged CV, including full list of University Grades, and arrange for two letters of reference to be uploaded in to https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/26720 no later than December 31st 2023. However, candidacies will be accepted until suitable candidates are identified. The selection will be based on the academic and scientific record of the candidate, the recommendation letters and the potential of the candidate to integrate well in the group.

IMPORTANT: if you are eligible for these grants https://lacaixafoundation.org/en/doctoral-inphinit-fellowships-retaining-call , please add the word INPHINIT to the field “Degree”.

For further information please contact: Prof. Diego Blas (dblas@ifae.es ) or Prof. Clara Murgui (cmurgui@ifae.es ).
