About IFAE
The Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) is a public consortium of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB, a public university) whose main objective is to carry out research and to contribute to the development of high energy physics from a theoretical, experimental and technological point of view. IFAE has the status of a “University Institute" attached to the UAB and its premises are within the campus of the University.
Job mission
IFAE is seeking a Research Projects Manager with the goal to manage administratively and financially the ongoing EU project ET-PP as well as to provide service to all researchers applying for competitive grants. The Manager will be a liaison between IFAE and the funding agencies (mainly Catalan, Spanish or EU public agencies, but also private institutions) and they will provide administrative support to ensure the success at the proposal submission level and an effective management of the awarded grants.
Job profile and tasks
The successful candidate will be expected to play a central role in:
- Managing the EU project ET-PP. Specifically, he/she will be in charge of the daily project management and of the progress and final reports, audits and further administrative and financial needs.
- Identifying and effectively disseminating the most suitable funding opportunities for IFAE.
- Giving support to the IFAE scientific community in the preparation and submission of proposals.
- Following-up and monitoring the execution of the projects with awarded grants: budget controlling, preparation of the justification reports, monitor the execution of the project according to the grant’s rules.
- Ex-post audits.
Required skills:
- University degree.
- Experience of, at least, one year as Research Project Manager.
- High level of English is mandatory (Advance or beyond). Track record in managing national and/or international research grants.
- Demonstrated ability to perform team work.
- Capability to work under strict deadlines.
- Strong technical skills, including anticipating and adopting new applications.

The evaluation criteria and their weighting for the submitted applications will be the following:
- Experience as Research Project Manager with Spanish and European public calls: 80 points
- Experience in big science projects and/or international collaborations: 10 points
- Experience in Spanish research centers: 10 points
Offered contract
Full-time contract (40 h/week), from Monday to Friday. Contract: Indefinit Activitats Científico Tècniques with trial period according to category (Approximate duration until 31/08/2026). The position will correspond to a Tècnic/a de gestió Nivell 1. Salary will be proportional to experience and qualifications within the corresponding category range. Immediate incorporation
