Predoctoral Fellowships
Ayudas para contratos predoctorales para la formación de doctors (MICIN):
These fellowships are addressed to graduate students that would like to obtain their PhD degree in any field of knowledge. These fellowships are linked to specific research projects, which are supported financially by the “Plan Nacional de I+D+i” and the Severo Ochoa Excellence Program, amongst others. Ayudas para la formación de profesorado universitario (FPU):
The FPU fellowships are addressed to graduate students that are interested in obtaining a PhD degree. These fellowships promote the teaching and research education within the personal researcher’s framework. This fellowship is an individual fellowship in contrast to the FPI fellowship, which is associated to research projects. FI (AGAUR - Generalitat de Catalunya):
The FI fellowships are oriented essentially towards incorporating PhD students in official PhD and Masters programs with the objective of including them in individual research projects or in research groups that are developing R+D projects. Application deadline usually in October.

FI-SDUR (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) (AGAUR - Generalitat de Catalunya):
The purpose of the support fellowships for university departments and research units FI_SDUR is to boost the research capacity of the departments of the Catalan university system through hiring pre-doctoral researchers. The FI_SDUR programme aims to promote and consolidate joint scientific strategies and policies between university departments and their affiliation entity, with the objective of developing research activities of international impact and strengthening the generation of cross-border knowledge and its transfer.

Doctoral INPhINIT fellowships (incoming):
35 fellowships for early-stage researchers of any nationality to pursue their PhD studies in the best Spanish and Portuguese research centres and units with excellence distinction. This frame is addressed exclusively to PhD research projects on STEM disciplines: life sciences and health, experimental sciences, physics, chemistry and mathematics.
