IFAE obtains the Severo Ochoa award renewal for 4 more years

- The award recognizes excellent research centres that stand out for their scientific impact and the international relevance of their results.
- IFAE initially obtained the recognition in 2012, the renewal is for the period 2017-2020.
The Agencia Estatal de Investigación has granted 7 accreditations Severo Ochoa and 6 Maria de Maeztu to excellent research centers and units.
The Institut de Física d’Altes Energias (IFAE) has renewed the award obtained in 2012 and will receive 1 million euros annually for four years. The committee has valued the scientific leadership position consolidated by the centre during the first four years of the award.
Fellow BIST member Centro de Regulación Genómica (CRG) and close collaborators Instituto de Física Teórica (IFT) have also renewed the award.
After this new announcement, there are 25 Severo Ochoa research Centres and 16 Maria de Maeztu
