Neutrinos Group2nd TPC prototype for the ND280 Upgrade project production finished
Nexus Projectes SL from Matorell finished the production of the 2nd TPC prototype for the ND280 Upgrade project.
Thorsten Lux accompanied the most crucial production steps. A first visual inspection gives an excellent impression.
The prototype is now shipped to Padova for further tests. This is a crucial step to start the production of the 4 final TPC field cages, 8 times the size of the prototype, at Nexus in the beginning of 2021.
Milestone
Cavern Excavation Completed for Hyper-Kamiokande

The excavation of the colossal underground cavern that will host the Hyper-Kamiokande detector in Japan has been successfully completed. This marks a major milestone for the international project, which aims to become the world’s most powerful neutrino observatory. IFAE participates in the project.
