Search for new phenomena in events with an energetic jet and missing transverse momentum in pp collisions at √s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector ” has been submitted to PRD.

This paper describes a search for new physics in final states with an energetic jet and large missing transverse momentum (MET) in proton-proton collisions at √s=13 TeV at the LHC, based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb−1 collected by the ATLAS detector during 2015-2018. In addition to an increase of almost a factor of four in the data size, the analysis implements a number of improvements in the signal selection and the background determination leading to enhanced sensitivity. The analysis also reached high precision in the background prediction uncertainty of 1.5% at low MET and 4.2% at high MET. The measurements are compatible with the SM predictions, the results are interpreted as an exclusion limit for different signal models.

From the IFAE-ATLAS team, Mario Martinez Perez, Jose Luis Munoz Martinez, Rachel Rosten, Sergio Gonzalez Fernandez and Danijela Bogavac have contributed to this publication. Jose Luis is one of the main analyzers, Mario is the corresponding editor for the paper.
