Theory DivisionTwo new papers on gravitational waves by Theory group member Diego Blas and collaborator Alex Jenkins. Detecting stochastic gravitational waves with binary resonance and Bridging the μHz gap in the gravitational-wave landscape with binary resonance
The current exploration of GWs leave a gap in at μHz very hard to cover by any observations. In this article, we propose the first method to explore this band to relevant values and with current or near future observations. We hope that this method will allow to unveil new mysteries about the Universe carried by GWs at these frequencies, such as those from primordial phase transitions, or more exotic phenomena.

A new approach to searching for ultraheavy dark matter
September 9, 2026
The study “First Search for Ultraheavy Dark Matter Using a Magnetically Levitated Particle” , co-authored by IFAE researcher Dorian Amaral and collaborators, explores a new experimental approach to probing interactions of ultraheavy dark matter. The work has been reported on Phys.org
