ATLAS Pixels group milestone achieved
September 1, 2021Collider Physics Group
The ATLAS pixel group completed the first step to qualify IFAE as a 3D module production site for the HL-LHC upgrade
Three triplets were produced according to a set of stringent requirements that include controlling the glue thickness to within +/- 10 um and the position of the modules to within 20 um.
Juan Carlotto and Pablo Fernandez led the activities, with the help of Eric Peregrina and Jorge Garcia. However, this effort is soon to be followed by the more demanding fabrication of RD53A triplet prototypes.
IFAE at EPS-HEP 2021
July 28, 2021
The European Physical Society conference on high energy physics 2021 (EPS-HEP 2021), one of the most important conferences in HEP of the year, is taking place online this week. Three IFAE groups are participating:
New ATLAS publication
June 30, 2021
“Measurement of the tttt production cross section in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector” has been submitted to JHEP. Members of the IFAE-ATLAS team (Aurelio Juste, Nicola Orlando, and Anil Sonay) have played a leading role in this publication, from designing the analysis strategy to the final multivariate technique and statistical analysis employed.
