IFAE accepted as new member in the Hyer-Kamiokande Collaboration

Neutrinos GroupThe Hyer-Kamiokande Collaboration accepted IFAE as a new member. HyperK is one of the next generation long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments.
The new far detector, a 250 kton water Cherenkov detector, is currently under construction. As near detector will serve the upgraded ND280 detector from T2K, a project in which IFAE is already involved in leading positions. The start of the data taking is planned for 2027.
