First field cage for the T2K TPC arrives at CERN

Neutrinos GroupThe first field cage of the time projections chambers that will be installed in the near detector of T2K have arrived at CERN.
The field cage has been produced by Nexus Projectes SL (Matorell).
In the next weeks the first TPC half will be assembled and tested before the next 3 field cages will be produced by Nexus.

Cavern Excavation Completed for Hyper-Kamiokande

The completion of the underground cavern for Hyper-Kamiokande in Japan marks a key research milestone in the construction of a next-generation neutrino observatory. The Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) participates in the project through its Neutrino group, contributing to detector development and the scientific programme of this major international research infrastructure.
