“Search for leptoquark pair production decaying into tltl in multilepton final states in pp collisions at 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector” Currently leptoquarks are the most favored explanation of the B-anomalies measured at the LHCb experiment. This search sets the most restrictive bounds on the mass of leptoquarks decaying exclusively into a top-quark and light lepton (electron or muon), ranging from 1.6 TeV for a scalar leptoquark, up to 2 TeV for a vector leptoquark. Stergios Kazakos is the lead analyzer, and Aurelio Juste one of the corresponding editors for the paper. “Search for heavy Higgs bosons from a g2HDM in multilepton plus b-jets final states in pp collisions at 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector” This is a novel search designed by IFAE to shed light on previous anomalies observed in multilepton measurements in ATLAS (some of them lead by the group). This is the first LHC search for an extended Higgs sector in a general two-Higgs-doublet model with flavour-violating couplings to the top quark, giving spectacular final states for two same-charge top quarks, three top-quarks, and four-top quarks. This searches sets first bounds on a four-dimensional space of the mass of the heavy neutral Higgs boson and couplings to up-type quarks. A 2.8sigma excess is found for a heavy Higgs boson with mass of ~1 TeV and a large flavor-off-diagonal coupling to the top quark and an up quark, which will be subject of further follow-up by the team. Members of the IFAE team participating in this search are: Nazlim Agaras, Shalini Epari, Stergios Kazakos, Nicola Orlando, and Aurelio Juste. First Pre-production Modules for the ATLAS upgrades for the LH-LHC Assembled at IFAE
February 21, 2024
The first pre-production triplet module for the ATLAS upgrades for the LH-LHC has been assembled this week at IFAE. The IFAE ATLAS Pixels group is building modules for the innermost pixel layer of the tracking detector (ITk) and the new high granularity timing detector (HGTD).
