Observational Cosmology GroupJonás Chaves has joined the Observational Cosmology Group at IFAE as Postdoc researcher.
Jonás obtained his PhD at CEFCA in 2017, he was a postdoc at Argonne National Laboratory (2017-2020) and at the Donostia International Physics Center (2020-2022).
His interests cover a broad range of topics in cosmology and astrophysics: galaxy-halo connection, cross-correlation of large-scale structure and cosmic microwave background, photometric redshifts, and active galactic nuclei.

Outreach talk about the latest DESI results

Sindhu Satyavolu and Laura Casas delivered the seminar “Probing Cosmic Acceleration with DESI: Is Dark Energy Evolving?” at the Sala de Graus II (UAB), in a hybrid format. The speakers presented the latest results from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) and introduced key cosmological concepts to ensure accessibility for a non-specialist audience.
