Three new IFAE patents

Medical Physics GroupIFAE filed a new medical imaging technology patent application: “Proton CT System with Improved Proton Energy Detector” and a patent application was granted named “Devices, Systems, and Methods for Mammography with a Detector Having Reduced Dimensions.” The third is a PET technology based new patent application filed in the European Patent Office.
- In collaboration with the University of Birmingham and the University of Geneva, IFAE researchers Thorsten Lux and Cesar Jesus Valls have filed a pioneering patent for a “Proton CT System with Improved Proton Energy Detector.” in the US. - The IFAE patent for “Devices, Systems, and Methods for Mammography with a Detector Having Reduced Dimensions. ” by Mokhtar Chmeissani has been granted in the US.
- A patent application based on a novel PET technology by the medical physics group at IFAE has been filed in the European Patent Office.

Milestone
Cavern Excavation Completed for Hyper-Kamiokande

The completion of the underground cavern for Hyper-Kamiokande in Japan marks a key research milestone in the construction of a next-generation neutrino observatory. The Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) participates in the project through its Neutrino group, contributing to detector development and the scientific programme of this major international research infrastructure.
