Neutrinos GroupThorsten Lux has been nominated as leader of the ND280 working group for Hyper-Kamiokande. ND280 will be crucial for the success of the Hyper-Kamiokande (HyperK) experiment.
Also, Thorsten Lux has been re-elected as one of four international members of the T2K Executive Committee (EC) for another 2-year term. He has been a member of the T2K EC already since November 2021.

Cavern Excavation Completed for Hyper-Kamiokande

The completion of the underground cavern for Hyper-Kamiokande in Japan marks a key research milestone in the construction of a next-generation neutrino observatory. The Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) participates in the project through its Neutrino group, contributing to detector development and the scientific programme of this major international research infrastructure.
