ND280 Upgrade Installation completed

May 15, 2024

Neutrinos Group

On the 14th of May, the last two TOF panels were installed in ND280.

This marks the end of the ND280 upgrade installation period which started last July with the installation of the first TOF panels. In total, one scintillator tracker, two TPCs and 6 TOF panels were installed over the last 11 months. The project now enters in a new phase with studying the performance of the fully upgraded ND280 and its physics exploitation. The first neutrino beam data will be taken in June.

The ND280 upgrade project is co-coordinated by IFAE and members of the IFAE Neutrino group participate on all levels in the project.
