Theory DivisionAndreas Maier has joined the Theory group as a postdoctoral researcher
Andreas is interested in precision phenomenology within the Standard Model and general relativity. He has been working on a broad range of topics: precision determinations of fundamental parameters and their evolution, Higgs physics and high-energy resummation at the LHC, Monte Carlo optimisation, and last but not least Quarkonia and binary gravitational wave sources. At IFAE he will be mainly working on this last topic.
Welcome Andreas!

A new approach to searching for ultraheavy dark matter
September 9, 2026
The study “First Search for Ultraheavy Dark Matter Using a Magnetically Levitated Particle” , co-authored by IFAE researcher Dorian Amaral and collaborators, explores a new experimental approach to probing interactions of ultraheavy dark matter. The work has been reported on Phys.org
