Theory DivisionNoé Duarte has joined the theory group as a PhD student
Noé Duarte González completed a double bachelor’s degree in Physics and Mathematics in Seville, and he coursed his master’s degree in Particle Physics and Astrophysics in Granada. He has previously worked on theoretical nuclear structure and neutrino-nucleus interactions. He will be doing his PhD at IFAE, focussing on hadronic physics relevant to new physics searches, such as hadron-axion interactions.

A new approach to searching for ultraheavy dark matter
September 9, 2026
The study “First Search for Ultraheavy Dark Matter Using a Magnetically Levitated Particle” , co-authored by IFAE researcher Dorian Amaral and collaborators, explores a new experimental approach to probing interactions of ultraheavy dark matter. The work has been reported on Phys.org
