Outreach talk about the latest DESI results

Observational Cosmology GroupSindhu Satyavolu and Laura Casas delivered the seminar “Probing Cosmic Acceleration with DESI: Is Dark Energy Evolving?” at the Sala de Graus II (UAB), in a hybrid format. The speakers presented the latest results from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) and introduced key cosmological concepts to ensure accessibility for a non-specialist audience.
The seminar was aimed at a general public and was attended by over 60 participants, including undergraduate and high school students. The session lasted approximately one hour and will soon be available on the PICO YouTube channel.

Carles Sánchez obtains a Consolidación Investigadora grant

Carles Sánchez, member of the Observational Cosmology Group at the Institut de Física d’Altes Energies, has obtained a Consolidación Investigadora grant from the Spanish Ministry of Science through the UAB (Departament de Física, Unitat d’Altes Energies).

Andreu Font-Ribera appointed ICREA Professor at IFAE

Andreu Font-Ribera has been appointed ICREA Research Professor at the Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE), reinforcing the institute’s leadership. With this appointment, IFAE now hosts eight ICREA professors.
