Theory DivisionEnnio Salvioni has joined the Theory group as a tenure-track Ramón y Cajal fellow in the Department of Physics at the UAB and researcher at IFAE.
Ennio obtained his PhD in Physics at the University of Padova (IT), followed by postdoctoral positions at UC Davis, TU Munich and CERN. He was an Assistant Professor in Padova in 2021-2023 and then Lecturer at the University of Sussex (UK) in 2024-2025, holding an Ernest Rutherford Fellowship from the STFC. His research is in particle phenomenology and cosmology.

The study “First Search for Ultraheavy Dark Matter Using a Magnetically Levitated Particle” , co-authored by IFAE researcher Dorian Amaral and collaborators, explores a new experimental approach to probing interactions of ultraheavy dark matter. The work has been reported on Phys.org
