New member in the Theory group
September 11, 2025
Theory DivisionYuliia Borysenkova has joined the Theory group as PhD student.
Yuliia Borysenkova obtained her Master’s degree in Physics from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where she studied vector particles coupled to the Standard Model through Chern-Simons interactions. Her research interests include particle physics, Standard Model extensions, sterile neutrinos, cosmology, and gravitational waves. She joined the Theoretical Division at IFAE under the supervision of Dr. Diego Blas to work on the GravNet project, focusing on simulations and methods for the detection of high-frequency gravitational waves.
Welcome Yuliia!

A new approach to searching for ultraheavy dark matter
September 9, 2026
The study “First Search for Ultraheavy Dark Matter Using a Magnetically Levitated Particle” , co-authored by IFAE researcher Dorian Amaral and collaborators, explores a new experimental approach to probing interactions of ultraheavy dark matter. The work has been reported on Phys.org
