Theory DivisionDorian Amaral has joined the Theory group as PostDoctoral researcher.
Dorian has just started his postdoc at IFAE, working with Diego Blas. Together with the group, he is developing the foundations for the most sensitive high-frequency gravitational wave detector in the world.
He completed his PhD at Durham University (UK) under the supervision of David Cerdeño, focusing on BSM neutrino phenomenology in dark matter direct detection experiments. He then moved to Rice University (Texas, USA), where he worked with Christopher Tunnell, Mustafa Amin, and Andrew Long. There, he explored how quantum sensing and magnetic levitation technologies can probe fundamental physics, including conducting the first searches for ultralight dark matter and novel fifth forces.
His research interests span quantum sensing and BSM physics, with a particular focus on dark matter, neutrinos, and gravitational waves.
Welcome Dorian!
