Neutrinos GroupPauline Collard joined the Neutrinos group at IFAE as a PhD student
Pauline Collard has joined the Neutrinos Group at the Institut de Física d’Altes Energies as a new PhD student. She comes from Lyon (France), where she completed her Master’s degree at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1.
She carried out her Master’s thesis at the Université de Genève, within the Neutrino Group, working on the commissioning of the Time-of-Flight (ToF) detector for the ND280 upgrade of the T2K experiment.
At IFAE, Pauline begins her PhD as part of the Neutrinos Team, focusing on the near detectors of both T2K and Hyper-Kamiokande, contributing to precision measurements in long-baseline neutrino physics.
Welcome Pauline!

Milestone
Cavern Excavation Completed for Hyper-Kamiokande
September 1, 2025
The completion of the underground cavern for Hyper-Kamiokande in Japan marks a key research milestone in the construction of a next-generation neutrino observatory. The Institut de Física d’Altes Energies (IFAE) participates in the project through its Neutrino group, contributing to detector development and the scientific programme of this major international research infrastructure.
