Tsung-Dao Lee Institute delegation visits IFAE

IFAEIFAE welcomed a delegation from the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute to discuss the scientific activities of both institutions and explore possible future collaborations in areas of shared research interest.
On Monday 18 May, IFAE hosted an institutional visit from a delegation of the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute aimed at exploring possible future collaborations between the two institutions.
The delegation included Jie Zhang, Director and Chair Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics; Shushu Li, Head of Administration; Yifan Chen, Tenure-track Fellow in the Particle and Nuclear Physics Division; Thomas Baycroft, T.D. Lee Postdoctoral Scholar in the Astronomy and Astrophysics Division; and Yu Zhao, Secretary to the Director and International Affairs Assistant.
The delegation was welcomed by Eugenio Coccia and other members of the IFAE directorate, together with researchers from the different groups. The meeting included presentations on the scientific activities of both institutions and discussions on possible future collaborations.

IFAE brings fundamental physics closer to young students through its 2026 summer programmes

IFAE's Severo Ochoa programme brings jazz, history and physics together in a sold-out public event

A sold-out audience of around 300 people gathered for ‘Sota l’eclipsi: jazz i física de l’univers’, an outreach event supported by IFAE’s Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence programme. Bringing together history, fundamental physics and live jazz, the evening explored how eclipses have transformed our understanding of the Universe while highlighting the dialogue between scientific discovery and artistic creation.
