Promising test results for the 3D pixel modules for the ATLAS upgrade

Stefano Terzo participated last week in a testbeam experiment at DESY, Hamburg measuring highly irradiated 3D pixel modules for the ATLAS upgrade at LH-LHC. The preliminary analysis of the data show a promising performance of these detectors even at large radiation doses.

The ATLAS High Granularity Timing Detector passes the LHCC/UCG reviews

Last week, the ATLAS High Granularity Timing Detector passed the LHCC/UCG reviews. The IFAE ATLAS Pixels group is playing a leading role in sensors (LGADs, with CNM), hybridization, module assembly and ASIC design. The group is also participating in several management positions.

IFAE PhD thesis published in Springer

Chiara Rizzi’s PhD Thesis with the title ‘Searches for Supersymmetric Particles in Final States with Multiple Top and Bottom Quarks with the ATLAS Detector’ has been published by Springer. She defended her work at IFAE in October 2018, and her supervisor was Aurelio Juste. After two years as a CERN Fellow, Chiara is starting a second postdoc at University of Geneva.
