On January 7, 2025, the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) was officially recognized as a European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) by the European Commission.

IFAE gamma-ray astronomy researcher Cosimo Nigro has joined the UAB Physics Department Faculty as Lecturer (Professor Lector) in the High Energy Physics Unit (Unitat de Física d’Altes Energies). Cosimo had already been teaching in the Department as a Teaching Associate (Professor Associat) during his postdoctoral stay at IFAE.
