Stochastic simulation of successive waves of COVID-19 in the province of Barcelona has been published in the Infectious Disease Modelling journal by the IFAE COVID grup in collaboration with Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics (CED) and the Internet Research Center (i2CAT).

Mario Martinez, ICREA professor at IFAE and head of the Gravitational Waves Group, is the new Director of the Experimental Division and takes on the role of IFAE Deputy Director. Martine Bosman, retiring Director of the Experimental Division, assumes the status of IFAE Emeritus.

Pilar Casado has been accepted by the T2K collaboration as a new member.

Javier Montejo Berlingen has joined the ATLAS group at IFAE as tenure-track Ramon y Cajal Researcher.

“Cosmological Fisher forecasts for next-generation spectroscopic surveys ” by William Doumerg and collaborators has been uploaded to arXiv.

The paper “Search for a new scalar resonance in flavour-changing neutral-current top-quark decays 𝒕 → 𝒒𝑿 (𝒒 = 𝒖, 𝒄), with 𝑿 → 𝒃𝒃bar, in proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector” has been submitted to JHEP.

The Buchalter Cosmology 2022 Second Prize was awarded to Diego Blas and his collaborator Alexander Jenkins (UCL), for their work entitled “Bridging the μHz gap in the gravitational-wave landscape with binary resonance ” published in Physical Review Letters.

Joaquim Piñol has joined the ATLAS group at IFAE as PhD Student.

Two IFAE projects were selected for funding in the “Prueba de Concepto 2022” call.
